As time goes by and the landscape and the world will change, individuals always expect to preserve the memories from the good old days. This is an interior design project for a residence. Since the owner has lived in this house for many years and has a strong attachment to it, he hopes the designer can preserve the old decoration and inject new ideas simultaneously. The homeowner hopes the old and new elements can intermingle perfectly and harmoniously to create a unique and comfortable living space. The living room is decorated with warm gray tones and light wood to create a warm and comfortable living atmosphere and decorated with green plants to outline a natural tone. Since the original TV wall was narrow, making the large sofa occupied most of the space. As a result, the designer has reconfigured the overhead cabinets, and curved display cabinets were cleverly connected to extend the visual experience and balance the weight of the space, presenting an open and large spatial pattern. Along the route to the dining area, a blue fabric is set as a finishing touch, adding a touch of color and giving a sense of visual layering. In the master bedroom, which continues the color scheme of the public space, is decorated with warm gray and white as the main color scheme. Besides, a few blue objects and green wall paintings create a natural and simple tone. The secondary bedroom is planned with a white base, some gray and wood tones, and a mirror to make the space look spacious and bright. After thorough communication with the owner, the designer preserved the original cabinets and ceilings and skillfully used the integration of colors and the layout of the space to blend the relationship between the old and the new, It not only preserves the owner’s memory but also keeps the smooth walking lines so that the residents do not have to readjust to the use of the space.
