The goal of interior design is to create a living space that meets the physical and emotional needs of its occupants. For this project, the homeowners are a couple, with the female owner being the primary resident while the male owner works abroad. To better suit their needs, the designer decided to rearrange the layout of the three bedrooms into two larger ones, with the extra space being used as storage and kitchen areas. This adjustment effectively fulfills the homeowners' expectations and requirements.

In the beginning stages of the design process, the owner expressed their desire for a mixture of rustic American and minimalist styles. To meet this request, the designer chose a light American decor theme. To accommodate the owner's welcoming personality, the designer created an open floor plan that seamlessly integrated the living room, game area, and dining and kitchen space. This approach helped to expand the spatial scale, providing friends and family with ample space to unwind and socialize. The game area, which is not typically found in most homes, was added to give the owner's grandchildren a place to play during visits and serve as a relaxation spot for the owner on regular days. The TV wall in the living room was given special attention as it is the central visual feature of the space. Marble was chosen as the primary material for the wall, emphasizing the grandeur and elegance of the overall design.

Within the kitchen area, the existence of numerous beams and pillars can create a sense of confinement and constrain the space. In order to mitigate this, the designers opted for a flat nail ceiling design with an American wire board edging to preserve the visual height of the room while eliminating any trace of the beams. Furthermore, the designers made use of the irregular spaces present in each area to cultivate additional storage options, such as clothing storage and storage cabinets, to expand the overall storage capacity of the home.
